The Write Stuff

When I ask Brides what they want the most from their wedding, I often get a reply of "personal touches." **(which I LOVE).  What better way to celebrate YOU on YOUR big day than by sharing with your guests different elements of you and your fiance's personalities, your likes, and your interests?

There is no better way to welcome a guest into YOUR lives (as a couple) than by putting special and personalized touches throughout the wedding experience-from start to finish.

The first "touch" and impression that your guests will receive will arrive in their mailboxes, requesting their presence at your wedding or that they save the date for your big day. In my opinion, there is no better way to begin the personalization and special touches than with calligraphy and handwritten envelopes/invitations.

As my mother says, in the South, "handwritten invites old charm." I couldn't agree more!

What an AMAZING first impression invitations like these would make on future wedding guests.

The exquisite detail, design, and talent showcased in this work would certainly keep me on the edge, and make me excited about other personalized details that might be waiting at the wedding.

When working with brides and discussing hand written invitations and/or calligraphy, one concern I often get is expense. "Will it be within my price range?" My answer is that EVERYTHING is within one's price range-you just must select where you would like to spend and save. I can't say enough wonderful things about spending in the details and invitations. In a world of texts and e-mails, a hand-written invitation is a treasured gem in my book.

If you'd like to add creative script in other areas of your big day, check out these beautiful signs hand painted by Kathryn at Fleur de Letters.

Even utilizing a calligrapher for a template for programs or other signage to be used at the wedding is a great touch, and way to add elegance and charm to your big day.

Of course, there a MANY other beautiful ways to showcase beautiful words on your big day-and we'd be more than happy to help you decide which might work best for you and your budget!

Until next time..

 Happy Celebrating!

Partying...with a Re-PURPOSE

I absolutely adore events. There is simply nothing in the world I love more than celebrating life, one event at a time. From the prep to the execution....the event process commands (and appeals to) every sense one could possess and then some...

Planning parties, events, and weddings engages every ounce of creativity while testing your capability to problem solve at high speeds-often throwing you a curve ball every couple of seconds. This, of course, is the lure and addiction for me...as I like to juggle life's curve balls :)

However, one of the things that I have witnessed first hand in this beautiful field often leads to one of the worst. I've seen opulence result in waste-and that I can't fall in love with. Me, being a problem-solver to a fault, sought ways to do my part to make this a part of Lettie Nicole Events, our culture, and our social responsibility-to enable our couples and clients to Party with a re-Purpose.

It's simple. For those tangible items that are still present at your big event/wedding after the guests no longer are, we will re-Purpose throughout Atlanta, in the best way we can find. As a general practice, we've always invited our guests to take extravagant floral arrangements and decor (with the party host or couple's permission) to ensure that the beauty is enjoyed even after their day's usage.

Gorgeous floral from Audrey + Jon's big day

Our amazing couple, Audrey and Jon, hailing from San Francisco, supported us with this endeavor by re-purposing/gifting their remaining flora to a local Retirement community, The Merrill Gardens at Roswell.

Great facility!

The residents and staff simply loved them. We delivered them the morning after Audrey + Jon's big day, so residents were greeted upon arrival from church with a lovely arrangement to take to their room. They were elated. THAT is the kind of a joy great events bring....and should continue to bring for as long as possible.

From tablescape....
to ready to share with residents!

We haven't worked with food yet, but we're up to try anything to be better stewards of the Atlanta community. And, of course, help people party...then Party (again) with a Re-purpose. As we continue to learn more and grow, this service will be provided at no charge to our clients. Share the love, spread the word, and let us help you continue the celebration...even after your big day.

Till Next Time!

Happy Celebrating!

Love PlayList from LNE

To help our fans and friends who may be in the process of compiling their perfect "love song" playlist for forthcoming nuptials, we at Lettie Nicole Events thought we would try to be of assistance by offering up our favorite LOVE songs of all time...sure to make your guests move, swoon, or giggle. And, it wouldn't be us if we didn't explain WHAT kind of love song it was...and why we picked it. So, without further ado, here are our selections...(you may thank us and our significant others later for giving you this solid list of songs) ;)

10. The "I love you and want to have a baby with you"
Your Body is a Wonderland-John Mayer (Lettie's Pick)...Because, what girl doesn't want to hear these   words from her significant other? We love your lyrics, John Mayer...just not you...all of the time :)

9.    The "I love you R&B classic"
All My Life-KC & JoJo (Allie's Pick) ....Because these words speak volumes, and what wedding would be complete without this one? Truthfully!

8.   The "I love you and if your guests don't love this song, we don't love them"
This Will Be-Natalie Cole (Allie's Pick)....Because it's classic. And the intro alone makes us smile...and giddy giggle. Boom Boom Boom......

7.  The "I love you...now let's bust a move"
Let's Get Married-Jagged Edge...(Lettie's husband' pick) Because if you're going to get married, you need to celebrate...and cut a rug ;)

LNE's Allie is a professional dancer. Do NOT try this at home...or DO, and wow your guests ;)

6.  The "I love you..and this song is so heartfelt"
Can't Help Falling In Love-Ingrid Michaelson..(Lettie's pick) Because she covers this Elvis classic so beautifully, you might cry...and never forget that dance, and always remember why you fell in love.

5. The "I love you and I have a dang good sense of humor"
It's a TIE!!! 21 Questions-50 Cent (Meagan's Pick) AND Endless Love-Diana Ross + Lionel Richie ...(Allie's Pick) Because it's super sweet and beautiful...and still reminds us of Happy Gilmore...which is worth a thousand smiles and plays in our book.

4. The "I love you...mean it. Let's Jam"
Ho Hey-Lumineers (Lettie's Pick)...Because we can't get enough of this band..or song. Period. And they can write a song ;)

3. The "I love you and this is Real life love"
Woman Like You-Lee Brice....(Allie's Husband's Pick)... Because the lyrics are amazing. And women swoon when their significant others' feel like this..and admit it!!!

2. The "I love you classically"
Into the Mystic-Van Morrison (Lettie's Pick)...Because it doesn't get any sweeter. Or more loving. Or real than the gypsy soul :)

1. The "I love you always and forever"
I will follow you into the dark-Death Cab for Cutie (Group Vote)...Because it is honest, raw, real..and perfect for a first dance..or sweet slow one.

Hope this has helped inspire your playlist, narrow down some selections, or even get your mind running for song ideas for your big day! We'd love to help you brainstorm on more. One tip we are very proud to offer is to start a Pandora Station (or 12) of preferred artists or genres and make notes and/or playlists of songs that you love for convenience for your big day. Also, think outside the box! Don't be afraid to play and request songs that are "different." It's your day. Let it reflect YOU!!! And, don't forget to twirl....

Happy Celebrating!!!

Lapis, If you Please?

Let me tell y'all-I didn't have to search far for this week's weekly inspiration! We received a BEAUTIFUL wedding invitation to a friend of my husband's, and the color scheme was so great! Light blue and yellow intertwined....think this:

DIY Blue and Yellow Invites, per Pinterest
Thanks, Pinterest, for putting the world at our fingertips. And, I'm lucky enough to actually BE (that's right BE) in my best friend's wedding this May...which I'm SUPER pumped about-and her colors include a STUNNING shade of blue. So, that got me thinking...a) what a FABULOUS combo and b) I PERSONALLY LOVE BLUE...especially LAPIS!!!

One might ask, what's lapis? It's this stand out hue of blue that is sure to be noticed (for all the right reasons).
Tory Burch, rockin' the Lapis..

Some other ideas on how to rock this blue hue in your wedding?

Lapis is a rich color-exuding opulence. Stemming from the mineral (lapis), it is even rumored to have been used in mineral form (ground to powder) as Cleopatra's favorite eyeshadow shade. It is strong, bold, and not for the faint of heart. It commands attention, and that's why I love it!

Other blue hues with yellow that rock my socks off?  If you want to go a little less lapis..and a little more navy (which I'm also loving...and will be wearing at my BFW (best friend's wedding).....here are some trending ideas to inspire:
Accenting done WONDERFULLY! So visually appealing.

And another navy and yellow inspired look for decor:

Take life's lemons..and make a great, inexpensive centerpiece!
If this isn't reason to sing the blues, we don't know what is! Blue is such an amazing color, with such variety and depth-a great staple in choosing the perfect palette for your wedding. And whether you choose my pick of the week, lapis, or navy, robin's egg, or another FABULOUS shade....rock it. Own it. And be as bold as the color you choose to represent you and your hubby-to-be on your big day!

Till next time...

Happy Celebrating!!

ACCENTUATION inspiration

Weekly Inspiration Alert!

I am LOVING  this trend right now.*So much, in fact, that I'm quite sure that it's not just a trend. This simple inclusion to any  wardrobe, home, or event is something so memorable that it will be a staple on the color scheme scene for years to come.

So, what's "accenting?" It's quite simple. You probably accent a lot more than you realize on a daily basis. Maybe you pair a super cute wide RED belt with a simple black dress, to give that dress a splash of "fun." Yep, you've got it. That's precisely what "ACCENTING" is....see, you're already doing it right?

Lots of folks choose to accent in their homes with a signature accent wall..like this....

We are seeing LOTS more accent nails....(which I have personally tried with gray nails and a plum accent-SUPER LOVED)....Try your own like these we found on Pinterest:

Or these like our lovely client and past bride, Linda C. submitted to us:

Talk about making your BLING BLING!!! Love it! Especially because it shows off the rings so beautifully....:)

If you are falling head over feet for this style..and want to accent your wedding a little more...First, pick your shade. Remember Shelby from Steel Magnolias? Blush and Bashful. Well, she gets 2 because she IS Shelby and Steel Magnolias is one of my favorite movies of all times. But, in order to properly execute, the rest of us will just have to declare one hue for accentuating our events :)

Once you've decided on the perfect shade....be it gray, persimmon, or something in between, pick WHERE you'd like to use it. We suggest some subtle but memorable places like this :

Cake:

Feel free to use whatever color, but doing one accent block with the same color accent flowers on the table will certainly catch your guests' eyes in a tasteful and fun way!

Another idea: Loving how this shot shows a bridal party that uses all white flowers so that your eye focuses solely on the accent color of the dresses. Talk about accentuating...and LOVELY!!

Clearly, there are many ways you can make your next event...and daily life "pop." My challenge? Accentuate on the daily.  Don't be afraid to stand out...and pop :)

Happy Celebrating!

Lettie Nicole

*See what I did there? A simple POP of color (with "loving") goes a loooong way toward grabbing attention in the proper areas and engaging an audience :)
